About the role

·ï»ËÌåÓýAPP is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join their team for a 6-month fixed term or contract role based in the Wellington CBD. In this hands-on position, you will play a vital role in supporting the organisation’s financial management and strategic decision-making.

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting the preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including financial reporting, variance analysis, and forecasting
• Lead the preparation of the annual budget and ongoing budget management
• Providing insightful financial analysis and recommendations to support business decisions
• Maintaining and improving financial processes and controls
• Collaborating with the wider senior leadership team and relevant stakeholders
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience as a Management Accountant, preferably within a sports or not-for-profit organisation
• Strong technical accounting skills, with a solid understanding of management accounting principles
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights
• Proficient in the use of financial software and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance
