Help send our future basketball stars overseas!

Many sporting codes in Aotearoa continue to operate on a user-pays system, including basketball. This means that once named to an age group national team in advance of an international tournament, each athlete and their family are required to contribute towards the cost of their flights and accommodation to that event.

BBNZ actively subsidises the cost for each athlete while also covering all other competition costs; yet athletes can still be required pay a large sum of money to contribute to travel costs to attend their pinnacle event.

BBNZ Supporter Raffle

To assist families with the cost of fundraising for their child’s age group national team travel costs, BBNZ has introduced an annual raffle system.

How does it work? Users canÌýÌýfor $20, which they can apply to any one of the age group national team players listed on the website – or the whole team if you wish (to be split evenly across team members). 100% of that contribution is offset against the athlete’s travel costs, and the ticket purchaser goes into the draw to win an array of incredible and unique sporting prizes, to be drawn on 1 August 2025.

It’s an amazing way for people to help send these athletes overseas for national team duty, while also being in the running for some amazing prizes!
